Hair Therapy: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition 3-Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment

let me tell you straight out of the gate that i would pay more than the $5 and change i spent on Garnier's new Triple Nutrition 3-Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment if i had to.
seriously. that's how much i love it.

this has become my absolute favorite drugstore deep conditioner, and for good reason-- it works so well! with a combination of shea butter and olive and avocado oils (along with other ingredients, of course), Triple Nutrition is deeply moisturizing and leaves my hair feeling so incredibly soft.

my typical routine with this is to wash and condition with Living Proof's No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner, then apply Triple Nutrition, leaving it in for 3-5 minutes. the result is amazing. if you need or are looking for a deep conditioning treatment, you need to get this.

like now.

hair therapy: Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo & Conditioner

Herbal Essences' new line, Tousle Me Softly includes everything you need to give your tresses the sexy, tousled look we see everywhere. the Shampoo and Conditioner are the first steps in prepping hair to take on the style-- or are they?

both the Tousle Me Softly shampoo and conditioner are infused with wild violet and pomegranate and can be used on any hair type. the shampoo, to me, is just a basic shampoo. i felt it may have cleansed my hair too well as i had that "squeak" after using it-- not good. i think it smells wonderful, and the idea behind the whole line is great, but if you have a good shampoo you really like, you don't really "need" this one to create a tousled look.

the conditioner, however, wrapped my hair with its creamy texture, and fabulous, luscious smell, leaving my hair feeling soft and moisturized (it is also contains ingredients to protect hair from heat styling). as i let my hair air dry before i styled, i noticed my hair had very little frizz, as promised by the label-- love that! i'll continue to use this in the future.

overall, these are good products-- not to mention affordable-- but you honestly don't have to use these particular products to get a tousled look-- you need appropriate products to do that. and with that, stay tuned to find out what i think of the Tousle Me Softly styling products!

beauty on a budget: ChapStick True Shimmer

ChapStick is an essential, practical item. if you're like me, you find it that it does what it's supposed to do, and there's nothing glamorous or sophisticated about it. it definitely doesn't come in a very appealing package, but it is, however, a comfortable, trustworthy product, and as i mentioned before, essential.

the brand decided to jazz things up a bit, and added to its range new goodies called True Shimmer that i think are fun and still manage to be practical.

True Shimmer was created to give all the same lip-moisturizing benefits of a balm, but with a subtle, radiant shine. as soon as my daughter saw these, she gave me a look, and i didn't hesitate to say she could try them out. these are definitely something little girls can feel glamorous wearing and we moms can feel comfortable with them wearing it-- i mean come on, it's Chapstick.

ChapStick True Shimmer is available right now in Tropical and Botanical Berry, you'll soon find it in Blended Fruit Sherbet and Peppermint Rush flavors at a drugstore near you.

beauty on a budget: CoverGirl TruBlend Microminerals Bronzer

did you know bronzer isn't just a summer essential anymore? it's ok to get your glow on year-round! CoverGirl TruBlend Microminerals Bronzer gives just enough of a sun-kissed glow to warm up any makeup look without making it look like you're trying too hard. i love that it comes with its own brush, and it adds a gorgeous radiance (think shimmer not glitter) when worn alone or swept over my favorite matte blush.

beauty on a budget: L'Oreal HIP Kohl Eyeliners

L'Oreal HIP Kohl Eyeliners aren't the typical liners. they're made with loose, iridescent kohl. they give eyes great definition and can be blended to create a soft effect that lasts all day without smudging, running or smearing.

i really like these. each is like using an eyeshadow as a liner, but instead of applying with a brush, you apply it with the fine, felt-tip applicator. one thing i strongly advise when using these is to tap off the excess so the pigments won't fall onto your cheek.

available in six colors-- Burgundy Kohl, Navy Kohl (pictured), Teal Kohl, Black Kohl, Brown Kohl and Gold Kohl (pictured)-- find L'Oreal HIP Kohl Eyeliners at your local drugstore and online at drugstore.com

review: L'Oreal HiP Color Presso Gloss

L'Oreal is one of my favorite drugstore brands for obvious reasons: they make amazing products that are affordable. their new HiP Color Presso Glosses are another line of products i really like. i will admit, there are pros and cons with these, but knowing that there are two colors that can be customized-- even mixed and matched to create new pairings!-- made them more appealing.

first off, as you can see in the above pic, there are two holes that allow as much or as little product of each color to be applied. the formula itself goes on smooth and has a pleasant vanilla scent, isn't sticky, and as they were designed to do, blend together very well.

these come in 10 color combinations, and as i mentioned before, you can interchange the colors to create new combinations...

Swanky is on the left and Trendy on the right.

flipping the tops off of both, i removed the lighter shade from Swanky...

and paired it with the lighter shade from Trendy...

then paired the bright and mauve-y pinks together.

as you may have gathered, the pros to these glosses are many, but i wouldn't be a good beauty editor if i didn't share the cons: first the tops aren't as easy to open as i would like. i can do it, of course, but it takes a small amount of effort. the other con is the price. i do factor in the fact that there are two yummy glosses you're getting, but i still feel the brand could have priced Color Presso a bit better. aside from that, i am definitely a fan!
