Christina Hendricks Wears New NARS Pure Matte Lipstick to Mad Men Premiere

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks looked as gorgeous as ever when she made an appearance at last week's season 4 premiere event (did you watch the show last night? the episode didn't disappoint!).

to create her look, makeup aritst Vanessa Scali worked with NARS Cosmetics. one of the stand-out products used was the new NARS Pure Matte Lipstick --"Christina's sultry Dolce & Gabbana dress inspired a softer version of the 'La Dolce Vita' makeup look," says Vanessa. Christina Ricci attended the closing celebration of Marina Abramovic’s "The Artist Is Present" at the Museum of Modern Art in nyc looking classic, but with an edgy twist. newly appointed NARS national makeup artist Francelle Daly creaated the look.

Celebs Wearing NARS at the 2010 Met Costume Gala

NARS Summer 2010 Collection

created and photographed by Nars founder and creative director Francois Nars, the NARS Summer 2010 campaign was inspired by Catherine Deneuve's character Severine in the movie Belle de Jour. as with the Spring 2010 collection, Amber Valletta is the face of the collection.




i personally am loving the glamour of this collection even though it's for summer. take a look...


Enchanted
a soft-peach cream blush with a hint of shimmer; leaves skin luminous with smooth and silky color. the vitamin-enriched formula is long-lasting and blends easily for a sheer flush and healthy, glowing summertime skin.

Burn It Blue
an iridescent ocean-blue and turquoise duo cream eyeshadow. the soft cream formula can be applied with fingertips or a brush for more precision. swipe on alone or layer one on the other-- the final look is delicate, yet striking.

Get Glowing with NARS Orgasm Illuminator

NARS Orgasm Illuminator is the latest in the family of Orgasm-colored products and probably my most favorite.

if you don't already know, in the world of beauty NARS Orgasm Blush is a "must-have", "perfect for all skintones" blush. sadly, this isn't quite true. i myself am not a fan of the blush on its own, but find it to be a much better highlighting shade on my darker complexion.


stars like Molly Sims, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Zoe Saldana have been wearing NARS Illuminator to various events this year.

the Illuminator, thankfully, is much more flattering. as described by the brand, it's a sheer wash of gold, peach and pink fluid. i like to refer to the finish as being more of a pretty sheen than a shimmer. it's uber-wearable and perfect for the upcoming season. it's versatile enough to be worn on bare skin or with makeup. as a highlighter over blush, it creates a gorgeous finish-- it makes cheekbones really pop!-- and can also be blended with foundation to give skin a little extra something. it's also great applied on your decolletage or shoulders.

a word of caution when you use this-- begin with a tiny bit and build to get the effect you need. and note that the finish is sheer and will not reflect the same indoors as it does out. :)

NY Fashion Week Fall 2010: Thakoon

for the Thakoon fall 2010 show, Nars cosmetics created the gorgeous look.

Spring Beauty 2010: NARS

happy tuesday beauties! i made a trip to Sephora today to check out the new Nars spring 2010 collection, then discovered that they didn't have it (oh, the heartbreak!). it is online though, so i figure it won't be too long before i see it in my local store.

i will admit i already am loving the colors featured in this collection-- can you say gorgeous?? we are in for a beautiful spring season, i would say. the nail color, Purple Rain-- love! i hear it calling my name (ok, a bit dramatic, i know, but you beauty die-hards know what i'm talking about!), and of course, the glosses and shadows look amazing.

let's take a look at the NARS 2010 spring collection, shall we?




Cruising Lipstick described as a subtle, sexy pink lipstick; this shade is sheer and natural-looking. the hydrating formula can be worn alone, or over a NARS Lip Pencil for variations in color and depth; neutral enough to pair perfectly with dramatic eyes, yet alluring enough to attract attention when used on its own.




Easy Lover Lip Gloss amazing luster meets sexy color in this ultra-sheer hot pink lip gloss. an eyecatching and refreshing springtime hue, perfectly suited to deliver super shiny, sensual lips. add an extra dab of it in the center of the bottom lip to accentuate sheen and fullness.

Ophelia Lip Gloss high-shine strawberry nectar lip gloss is deliciously sweet and seductive. wear it alone, or over NARS lip products for a more intense effect and color variation. the glossy formula will capture both the light and the attention of admirers.

Amber Valetta at the NARS 15x15 Event

makeup artist Lena Koro for Nars Cosmetics created the makeup look for Amber Valletta's appearance at the launch event for NARS 15x15. as one of the 15 celebrities to participate in the project, the model-actress attended the party alongside hosts Daphne Guinness and Marc Jacobs to commemorate 15 years of iconic beauty by François Nars, founder and creative director of Nars. the product that served as the inspiration for her portrait, NARS Belle de Jour Lipstick, was a staple in creating Amber's classic look for the event.

NARS Used on the Set of Mad Men!

Lana Horochowski, department head of makeup for Mad Men (don't you just love this show?), loves using NARS on the cast-members.

"i love, love, LOVE the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because they are long-lasting and give that perfect matte finish that is so authentic to the time period," says Lana. "in the past, we used mostly cream cheek color because that was used in the period. since powder blush was invented in 1963, we were finally able to throw it in for this season!"

Francois Nars to Make a Special Appearance in New York!
